garmin-edge-500

This year for the first time ever I entered a couple of sportives and so with it an increased mileage.  I was pleased to manage an extra 195.61 miles in comparison with 2015.

2017 brings new opportunity as always and the plan is to maintain lower weight and continue to use cycling as a way of staying healthy, both physically and mentally.

I hope it’s been a great year for you and wish you safe miles in 2017.  Thanks for continuing to visit the blog and I hope to see you on the road sometime.

Help Chris get to the Lausanne Young Leaders Gathering in Jakarta

As many of you will already know, this summer I will be representing the UK at the Lausanne Younger Leaders’ Gathering in Jakarta.

YLG 2016
For this trip I need to raise a total of £1,500.  Hannah has contributed £450 through the selling of her Christmas earrings and I’ve already received a couple of other generous donations so I have a further £900 left to raise.

Over the next few weeks I have signed up to do two cycling events and I would love it if any of you felt able to sponsor me.  This first event is tomorrow when I will be cycling 42 miles around rural Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Northampton.  Then, on 9th April, I will be cycling 69 miles around the New Forest.

If you would like to sponsor me, then please let me know.  You can either give me the money in person or I can give you the bank details to transfer money across.

2015 Mileage

Garmin Edge

This year for the first time ever I’ve kept a record of how many miles I’ve cycled.

In one sense I’m very pleased with 350 miles but keen to increase that in 2016 with the new exercise plan I’m currently using.

2016 brings new opportunity as always and the plan is to maintain lower weight and continue to use cycling as a way of staying healthy, both physically and mentally.

I hope it’s been a great year for you and wish you safe miles in 2016.  Thanks for continuing to visit the blog and I hope to see you on the road sometime.

Weekly cycling review

Weekly Review

I’ve got back on the bike a lot more for commuting and getting to and from my various meetings leading to the following stats on my Garmin:

  • Count: 19 Activities
  • Distance: 21.69 mi
  • Time: 1:40:18 h:m:s
  • Elevation Gain: 527 ft
  • Avg Speed: 13.0 mph
  • Calories: 1,161 C

These are certainly not amazing stats, but it is has been a good step up for me this week, and helped me to lose 4 pounds which is always a good thing!
